February 25th, 2013

A contract agreement, without arbitration, has been reached between the city of Erie and the Erie Police Department.

The last time the city and the Fraternal Order of Police reached a contract agreement without binding arbitration was 1983.
Both sides had until next week before arbitration began.

Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott and union representative Ken Kensill say they're pleased with the outcome.
One of the biggest issues in the agreement was health care contributions.

The contract will last four years.
