On Wednesday, 15-year-old Tyler Adams of Meadville was adjudicated delinquent in Crawford County Juvenile Court for his role in a vicious attack that occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. January 01, 2013, outside the CVS Pharmacy located on North Street in Meadville.

"Adams was adjudicated delinquent of aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment. Judge John Spataro found that there was insufficient evidence to adjudicate Adams delinquent on the charge of criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. The Office of District Attorney is very pleased with the Court's verdict.  Assistant District Attorney Craig Howe did a masterful job in presenting the Commonwealth's evidence to the court," stated District Attorney Francis J. Schultz.  "The victim in this case did a wonderful job in testifying about the attack," stated Assistant District Attorney Craig Howe.  The victim suffered multiple facial fractures that required surgery.

"This is a very serious case in which an innocent citizen was violently attacked on the streets of Meadville.  The case was thoroughly investigated by Meadville City Police Department Patrolman David Gredler," stated DA Schultz.  Adams' 16-year-old co-defendant is scheduled to be in court on March 05, 2013, in order for the court to determine if his case will be transferred to adult criminal court.  The District Attorney's Office has filed a request asking that the 16-year-olds' case be transferred to adult criminal court.

Tyler Adams next scheduled court appearance for the disposition on his charges will be held in the next thirty days.
