March 1, 2013

In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday, local schools are participating in National Read Across America Week.

The week is all about promoting literacy, while honoring children's author Dr. Seuss.

Robison Elementary students and staff are having a great time celebrating.

Each day has had a different Dr. Seuss theme.

From crazy socks day, to wearing all green for Green Eggs and Ham, the kids dressed the part as they read the books. The students had green eggs and ham for breakfast.

All this preparation has a very important message -- reading is fun!

The Summit Lions Club set up tables full of brand new books they are donating.

Each of the 400 students got to take home a book.

If you can read...the World is open to you always!! :) If you know someone who has trouble reading...help them, it's nothing to be ashamed of!!
