Forty-seven people from around the globe can now call America their new home.

A Naturalization Ceremony was held this morning at the Federal Court House in Erie to welcome the new citizens.

The process to becoming an American citizen is not an easy one, and is filled with months of studying for tests as well as a final interview.

At the close of the ceremony, the new citizens received mementos, a certificate, and were able to say the Pledge of Allegiance for the first time as an American.
