It's the 5th annual Bob Sanders Day at the Zoo, which means everyone gets in free for the day. It's a time of year that people look forward to far in advance.

"This is a day people look forward to. All year long we get calls," marketing coordinator at Erie Zoo, Ainslie Brosig said.

Even though the temperatures were cold, and the snow was falling, that didn't stop families from Erie and beyond from taking advantage of the day.

Sarah Chapp is originally from upstate New York, and today was her first time visiting the zoo. She says her experience was wonderful.

"I thought I would be very cold, but I'm enjoying it. It's a lot of fun. It's great to see the animals and they look like they're being well taken care of," Chapp said.

And Erie resident, Darleen Wade, said she comes out to support Bob Sanders Day because she thinks it is great what Sanders is doing for the community.

"For him to come back and not forget us here in Pennsylvania, I think it means a lot, and that's why we're here," Wade said.
