PennDOT Yellow Dot Safety Program
The first hour after a serious crash is known as the 'golden hour', and a new program established by PennDOT will now be able to help crash victims receive medical care more efficiently.
The Yellow Dot Program was created to
assist citizens with emergency care following a traffic accident when they may
not be able to communicate their needs for themselves.
Motorists would keep their medical information in their glove compartment, and first responders at the scene of the accident would know to look for the medical information, thanks to a yellow dot on the cars rear window.
The Yellow Dot Program is in cooperation
with the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and local
law enforcement.
Motorists can sign-up for this program at their nearest PennDOT location or on PennDOTs website.
