It's that time of year again, for the 2013 regional Science Olympiad. The tournament was held at various locations on the Penn State Behrend campus, all day long. JET 24/FOX 66 meteorologist Linh Truong was a guest judge.

Students from 22 local and middle schools worked for months on projects to be used in this competition. One student we spoke with says she spent nearly 15 hours perfecting her projects yesterday.

Event overseer Paul Ashcraft, who is a lecturer at Behrend, says students competed in more than 20 events.

Naturally, the students all wanted to advance to the state meet at Juniata College, but being able to show off their work and be recognized was an even bigger deal.

"It's good to be recognized for what you like to do," said Brookville HS senior, Matthew Cauvel.
