Gannon Athletic Center to Get Facelift
Gannon University's Athletic Center will be getting a facelift along with an addition.
It's a fourteen and a half million dollar project that will update the current rec center plus ad an addition.
The addition will be an 80 yard indoor field house located west of the current athletic pavilion facing Third Street.
Crispo Hall located on Sassafras between Third and Fourth Streets will be torn down to create space for the field house.
The renovations to the current athletic pavilion will be facing Fourth street.
The funds come from a 22 million dollar bond with 5.5 million being used to refund an old bond.
Gannon officials say the student body, faculty and staff are looking forward to the state of the art facility.
The athletic pavilion was built in 1984.
School officials say the project is necessary.
City council saw and approved the plans this morning.
