Democratic Policy Committee Meets to Discuss Medicaid Expansion
Medicaid expansion seems to be a hot button issue this year, and that issue was front and center this morning in Erie.
Several members of the house Democratic Policy Committee met this morning in the Hirt Auditorium at the Blasco Library.
The gathering is the 2nd part of a series of policy meetings in Erie.
The focus today was on the expansion of Medicaid.
Governor Tom Corbett has refused to include in his budget proposal the 40 billion dollars over 10 years that the federal government has offered to expand Medicaid.
The committee members are hoping to change the governor's mind, especially since other governors are reversing their original policy.
So far 21 governors plan to expand Medicade in their states.
