March 11, 2013

A crackdown on pet regulation in Erie County will start in just a few weeks.

Beginning in April, wardens and officers in five counties including Erie will start enforcing warnings regarding pet laws.  All dogs 3 months of age or older must be licensed.

Dogs are not permitted to run at large and dogs and cats must have rabies vaccines.

Fines will range from $50 to $300.

City of Erie dog licenses can be purchased at:

City Hall; Grooming by Charlene; Nickel Plate Mills; The A.N.N.A. Shelter; Mud Puppies; Peninsula Pups or online at www.erie.pa.us

County licenses are available at the A.N.N.A. Shelter, Erie Animal Hospital, The Humane Society, Wintergreen Animal Hospital, most township buildings and at the County Court House or online at
www.eriecountygov.org

Rabies vaccines can be administered by licensed veterinarian and through local clinics. A.N.N.A is hosting a $10 Rabies Clinic in Corry to help with the compliance
