MARCH 11, 2013- Students from a local university hoping to work in the medical field got a hands on experience by practicing suturing.

Physicians from St. Vincent Health Center worked 1 on 1 with Gannon University students for a suture workshop.

Students practiced suturing on pigs feet.

Officials say they use they pig's feet because they resemble human skin.

Emergency department doctors and residents helped the students through the process.

Students also received advice from those working in the medical field.
