Hometown Hero James Popeski Sr.

James Popeski Sr, is a veteran of the United States Army. He served for five years during World War II. That included the march by US troops into Germany, during which he was shot in the legs. Jjim would receive the purple heart.

Jim will be 90 years old this year and he's the only surviving member of his unit. This father of five and grandfather of four also served his community as a part time Erie County Sheriff's Deputy.  World War Two Veteran James Popeskki Sr. is this week's Hometown Hero.
