Girard Apartment Construction Begins
Construction of an elderly apartment complex along Main Street in Girard has begun.
The Lutheran Service Society, in conjunction with the Department of Housing and Urban Development are building a new complex of 36 one bedroom apartment units, catered to seniors.
The overall project is scheduled to be three stories and feature a community room, library and on-site laundry facilities, along with 24 hour maintenance services.
The total cost for the building is 3.7 million dollars.
