Chardon High School Shooter Gets Life In Prison
March 19, 2013 - TJ Lane appeared before Judge David Fuhry for sentencing this morning. He went without legal assistance, without saying a word, and did not offer an apology to the families of the victims.
He learned in court that he will spend the rest of his life in prison without eligibility for parole. He sat grinning as the sentence was handed down, wearing the same white t-shirt with the word "killer" written in black marker that he wore during the rampage.
The prosecutor called it a "cold, calculated massacre" before the court this morning. And the judge agreed as he handed down the sentence saying that Lane "consciously and methodically carried out a plan to kill." Fuhry continued saying, "the victims in no way provoked, incited, or deserved what TJ Lane did."
Three students were shot and killed during this rampage last February: Danny Parmertor, Russell King Jr., and Demetrius Hewlin. Three others were injured.
