Fire Department Treasurer Charged With Theft

March 19, 2013- The Chapmanville Fire Department in Venango County is the broke, and their former treasurer is accused of emptying their bank account.

Kimberly M.Keener was arrested Monday and charged with two felony counts of theft involving funds that are missing from the bank account of the fire department.

The department's account was audited by the Pennsylvania Auditor General's office of Special Investigations. More than $25,000 is missing from the account.

State Police from the Franklin Barracks made the arrest.

Keener is free after posting $15,000 bail through a bonding company.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 27.
