Low Lake Levels Pose Problems for Boaters

March 22nd, 2013

With boating season upon us, many marinas are concerned with the low levels of Lake Erie and if they'll be able to stay afloat.

President of the Sons of Lake Erie, Jerry Skrypzak, explains the number one problem would be damage to boats sailing into shallow water and getting in and out of marinas.

Not only that, boaters have to be worried about getting stuck on sandbars, or old pilings that are now too close to the surface.

Overall, we're told that the water level in Lake Erie as a whole is low.
