Walk In Black History

watch video
Area kids are getting a chance for a hands-on history lesson. Students left the JFK Center Monday for a bus trip through African-American history. The trip will take students to key locations in black history and highlight the struggle for civil rights. Stops in Tuskegee and Montgomery, Alabama, and in Atlanta, Georgia are highlights of the trip. The students will walk in the footsteps of civil rights leaders like Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Many of the travelers say they have always wanted to visit these places. Organizers hope everyone will learn about the civil rights movement and its broader impact on American history.
