ABC News President Visits Chautauqua Institution

watch video
ABC News president, David Westin, lectured on a variety of topics at the Chautauqua Institution on Tuesday.  Westin has served as president since 1997.  Throughout his years in the business, Westin says he's heard a great deal of both criticism and praise of the industry.  In a one-on-one interview, he talked about the challenges involved with covering the war in Iraq.  Currently, ABC has forty people stationed in their Baghdad Bureau.  Besides the obvious risks to the corespondents, Westin says presenting the complete story of what is actually happening overseas is more difficult than ever.  He says reporters were able to roam freely around the country early on in the war, now they are confined to a compound.
