Heightened Airport Security
The heightened security at Erie International comes after a terrorist attack at Glasgow International Airport in Scotland.
The ripple effect of the attack has put officials here in the US on alert.
Erie Airport officials say there are extra security measures in place, including random inspections of vehicles as well as increased canine units, and uniformed and plain-clothed officers inside and outside of the terminal.
Passengers should arrive at least an hour and a half before their flights are scheduled to depart. But authorities, say they are working to ensure the extra security measures don't slow those passengers down.
Airport officials anticipate about 6,000 passengers will come through Erie.
