State Budget Update
Governor Rendell is in Harrisburg trying to hammer out a budget deal with the State House of Representatives, but the State Senate is out of the picture.
Governor Rendell spoke out against state senators leaving Harrisburg without passing a new budget. But leaders of the Republican-led Senate say the governor is wasting time with small items while refusing to negotiate on the spending plan.
Rendell says he will refuse to sign a budget agreement unless his energy, transportation, bio-tech, and health care funding bills are passed.
Republicans say it is wrong for Rendell to make such demands. But the governor insists his agenda items are right for Pennsylvania.
