Corry Embezzlement

watch video
Thousands of dollars gone missing from the city of Corry has prompted Erie County officials to take part in the investigation.

District Attorney Brad Foulk said Tuesday that there is a person of interest, but no arrests have been made.

Investigators say at some point between 4:30 Friday afternoon and 8:00 Monday morning, someone stole between five and ten thousand dollars cash from a safe in Corry City Hall.

The money was discovered missing by one of the senior members of the city's treasurer's office.

Officials say the worker noticed the problem during a routine check of the books and drawers before opening around 8:30 Monday morning.
