Lansdowne Ready To Leave Erie

Work will continue sunday to remove the Lansdowne from the Erie Bayfront. A tugboat spent a few hours this afternoon preparing the barge to be moved out of erie to a location in Buffalo. The vessel at one time was on the drawing board to be a floating restaurant on the bayfront, but those plans fell through several years ago. The lansdowne has been moored in erie since 1999. The owners of the barge, Specialty Restaurants have been leasing the space from the Port Authority for 1 thousand dollars a month.
