The Erie School District says putting fifth grade boys and girls in seperate classes this year enhanced classroom performance.
Monday, the district began analyzing the results of a new report on the same sex classrooms at McKinley Elementary School.
Boys and girls in the fifth grade were seperated during the 2005-2006 school year.
Superintendent Jim Barker says the study proves that both groups out-performed other comparable groups.
That means the district will continue the program this year.
