State Police Say 11 Shots Were Fired At Troopers

New York State police now report that the person who opened fire on the 2 state police officers fired numerous times, and one of the troopers returned fire. At a press conference Sunday night, state police say that at least 11 shots were fired from a high powered rifle at the two officers. It was also learned tonight that one of the troopers did return fire from his service revolver, but it`s not known if any of the rounds hit the sniper, who police believe is Phillips. State Police in cooperation with the Troopers Police Benevolent Association have raised the reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of phillips, from 50 thousand to 225 thousand dollars.
