Suspect Kills Himself after Clarion County Standoff

A Maryland murder suspect held police at bay in Clarion County Saturday night before killing himself. State police say James Lydell Ray, 34, shot and killed a 12-year-old girl and wounded four others in Baltimore early Saturday morning before heading for Pennsylvania. State police spotted his vehicle on Interstate 80 and pursued him through Jefferson and Clarion counties until Ray crashed his car in a field in Clarion. Ray forced his way into two homes, before barricading himself inside the second house. State police called the Special Emergency Response Team to assist with the standoff. Police say Ray came out of the house around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night and shot himself in the head. He died a short time later.
