NOVEMBER 18, 2012- Hunters from across the county got their guns inspected and adjusted to prevent a missed shot or any stray bullets.

Hunting is a task that takes a lot of time, as hunters tell us you can't control where the animal will go, but you can control where your rifle shoots.

Professionals at the Walnut Creek Rifle Club made sure the scope was set and ready.

Pros at the club also made sure nothing was stuck in the barrels, the rifles were cleaned and the safety worked.

Sighting a rifle is also key in making sure the animal being hunted isn't wounded.

Even though it isn't legally required to get a weapon sighted, experts say it is an important step to take before deer season.

Rifle club members want to remind hunters to put safety first this season.
