Man Found Unconscious in West Side House Fire, Dies at Hamot

A man found unconscious inside a home on fire on just after 3:00 this afternoon.

    The fire was extinguished within five minutes, but crews found a man unresponsive on the first floor.

    The man was taken to UPMC Hamot where, according to the coroner, he died.

    Officials are still investigating the cause, but they tell us the fire appears suspicious.

    The Erie Police Department has been called to the scene.
