Man Charged with Homicide

November 26, 2012- A woman is apparently brain dead, and a man is in Erie County Prison charged with her murder.

          Jeffrey Alan Selby of 1024 Peach Street was arraigned Sunday before district Judge Thomas Carney on charges of aggravated assault and criminal homicide.

          Erie Police were called to a residence in the 400 block of West 17th Street Saturday afternoon for a domestic incident.

          According to the criminal complaint, a woman in the home was severely beaten about the face and body. Police say the woman was taken to Saint Vincent Medical Center. According to Coroner Lyell Cook, the victim is currently on life support. She has not been declared dead by the coroner's office..

          Selby, however has been charged with homicide. The arrest warrant calls the woman "brain dead."
