DECEMBER 7, 2012- A mother who lost her child to gun violence has created a program to lead at risk teens on the right track.

Sonya Arrington of Mothers Against Teen Violence created LEAD.

LEAD stands for Leadership Empowerment Accountably Diversity.

The program will provide community service opportunities, GED prep and job training.

Arrington's hope is to reduce risk factors that lead to violence, drug abuse and drop outs.

LEAD will begin on January 7th at the Booker T Washington Center.

It will also be used as a diversion program for kids on truancy.
