An Erie man was sentenced this morning for robbing and shooting another man inside a pizza shop.

Carlos Diana Cruz was sentenced this morning to 37 years behind bars.

This comes after the 28-year-old was arrested back on January 20.

Diana Cruz was arrested on charges of robbery and attempted homicide after police accused him of robbing Alfees Pizza and Sub Shop and shooting a 20-year-old employee.

Cruz was sentenced to 18 and a half to 37 years behind bars for robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm.

Comments

So, even though he was charged with attempted murder, he was only sentenced to 18 years for aggravated assault. Thanks a bunch to the DA's office for letting this guy get half of what he deserved. Any word on the condition of the person he shot?
