If you were listening to 88.5 on the radio today at noon, you heard the debut of a new radio format at WMCE FM at Mercyhurst University.

The Laker Radio Network has merged their two stations - Jazz FM in Erie and WYNE AM in North East, into a new station that incorporates oldies, with eclectic student radio.

Every student brings something different to the airwaves.

Longtime Erie radio personality Captain Dan Geary teaches the radio program at Mercyhurst.

He also plays oldies every morning, and is excited to be a part of the transition.

The Mercyhurst radio station hopes to showcase student talent with the new Laker Network.
