Clifford the Big Red Dog, an American children's book character, turns 50 this year -- that's 350 in dog years!

To celebrate, WQLN hosted a two day birthday bash for Clifford. On Friday, the party was held at the Meadville YMCA. Saturday, the party was held at the Children's Library in the Blasco Memorial Library in Erie.

More than 300 children came to the party, to see Clifford, eat cake, play games, and read his stories. Tom New, director of creative services at WQLN, says this event was perfect for everyone, including him!

"When I was a kid, my parents read me Clifford books," New said. New also added that this was the perfect event for all kids -- including himself -- of all ages, and all sizes!
