It may still be winter, But the Crawford County Commissioners are looking towards summer with plans to renovate the fairgrounds.

The Crawford County fairgrounds get used six months out of the year; commissioners want it in top shape so people keep coming back.

Before the start of the Crawford County Fair this year, a new draft horse barn will be built.

Right now, You'll see that there are empty slots of land where the two barns used to be, those barns got torn down after the fair last year.

And starting in late March. Crawford county commissioner Francis Weiderspahn tells us that construction will begin... And they're hoping to have the barn done by June 1st.

But the renovations will continue.. Into the electrical system, which officials say haven't been updated for 30 years...

And by next year, commissioners will be redoing the second horse barn where this space is.

Weiderspahn tells us the cost of the projects will come in at $118,000... But the good news is it won't come out of the taxpayers pockets.
