Mayor Swears in Three New Officers

Three new officers are sworn in and join the ranks of the Erie Police Department today.
In front of friends and family at city hall this morning, Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott swore in three men who are anxious to start their new careers.

Twenty-four-year-old Adam Edmonds, 25-year-old Justin Stidham and 29-year-old Michael Sorokes join the Erie police department.
 
Edmonds enlisted in the army in 2008 and graduated from the Mercyhurst North East Police Academy.
Stidham also graduated from the Mercyhurst North East Police Academy and was an officer for the Albion Police Department.
And Sorokes was an officer at the Bradford Police Department.

These fresh faces replace three men who retired from the department.
Erie police chief Steve Franklin is excited to bring them on board.

They're all anxious to begin their duties for the city of Erie.
Chief Franklin says these officers will have orientation followed by three months on the streets with a veteran officers who will show them the ropes.
The department is back to it's full compliment of 173 officers.
