Volunteers from fourteen companies spent the morning fighting a stubborn fire at Meabon Farms in Wattsburg.

The call came in for a barn fire at about 9:45 this morning.

First responders from Wattsburg pumped thousands of gallons of water on the hay and equipment filled outbuilding.

All the effort kept the fire confined to one structure, but that building was destroyed.

A PennDot spokesperson says traffic around Meabon farms was detoured. Both routes 8 and 89 near the fire have since been reopened.
