A new law goes into effect at midnight that will make it illegal to text while driving. And this is a primary law, meaning police do not need any other reason to pull you over if they see youy texting while behind the wheel.

Harborcreek high school students were able to see how easy it is to get in an accident while being distracted by texting. A new, state of the art simulator was used to demonstrate how easy it is to miss situations that need split second decisions Situations like deer running out in front of your car or people walking in front of you vehicle.

If you are caught texting while behind the wheel, you'll face a 50 dollar fine.
