We continue to do our part to explain the dangers of texting while driving through our No Text North West Pennsylvania campaign.

We all know texting while driving is dangerous, but it's a bad habit that can be hard to break.

Eric Purchase, of Purchase and George Law Firm, explains that the texting while driving habit compared to other bad habits including smoking and not wearing a seatbelt.

He says that it took Americans a while to understand the consequences of smoking as well as remembering to wear a seatbelt.

Purchase says that by repetition people will understand the consequences and dangers of texting while driving.

It's one of the most dangerous forms of distracted driving because, according to Purchase, you take your eyes off the road, your hands off the wheel and your mind off the task of driving.

Your car travels a long distance when you look down to send a text.

So remember that when you're behind the wheel you're 23 more times likely to get into a crash while texting and driving.

This should have also included talking on cells!! You cannot believe the people who have caused accidents and closely caused accidents, just talking on their cells...it's stupid!!! You SHOULD be paying attention to the road and your surroundings...NOT looking at your cells calling, texting, etc...Gee, it's not been that long that people have had to use them in vehicles, you'd think that by now, some common sense would have sunk in!!!
