It's a story we hear about each Thanksgiving around the dinner table, the snowstorm of 1956.

 

It was exactly 56 years ago today when Mother Nature unleashed her lake effect fury on our area with a 2 foot snowstorm on Thanksgiving Day 1956.

 

Meteorologist Tom Atkins talked to 3 ladies that came to dinner that Thanksgiving and didn't leave for 3 or 4 days.
