Erie county housing specialists are asking for your help...

Housing Specialist Mark Alexa tells us there has been an overflow of people in homeless shelters this year...

Alex says there has been a high concentration of poverty in Erie County, people can't afford housing so people are staying longer in shelters.

Since all shelters are full...

Officials are asking churches if they have any extra space to provide for the homeless...

They're also asking for volunteer aid...

And officials say hospitals and hotels are needed for laundry services to help clean their sheets and blankets.

This is unacceptable!! The classified section in this town has maybe 12-15 job ads. Most for degree. I have been unemployed almost a year. Our homeless shelters are full. The citizens of this town need to speak up! Just a week or so ago there was an article that "Erie was going to welcome 600 imigrants from God knows where?? Yep they get here and get free everything and we have citizens in shelters whos parents and family built this city? Shame on everyone of you that isn't writing to the Mayor of this city and demanding this stop. No more imigrants. Don't spend money in there tax free stores! Fight and stand up for Erie if you want to live here. If not there are MANY other citys you can live in. We need to protect our city and citizens. Today you are fine, but remember, tomorrow YOU could be the one looking for a place to sleep. THINK ABOUT IT.

Why don't they send the homeless over to the brand new multimillion dollar horse stables at the racetrack? Animals exploited for gambling have it better then humans do in Erie county. That just goes to show the priorities of the people here in trashcan Erie.
