Jan 24, 2013;

Power has been restored after a pole fire left one Millcreek Township neighborhood in the dark.

The situation began around 6:45 Thursday evening when firefighters were called to West 38th Street and Canterbury Drive.

The fire first forced the closing of West 38th from Zuck Road west to Sterrettania Road.

According to Penelec officials, Penelec shut off electricity to about 1600 homes while they repaired the pole.

Power was restored to the area at about 1 o'clock this morning.
