The county executive has named Major Kevin Sutter as the new deputy warden of the Erie County Prison.

Sutter tells us he's more than qualified seeing as though he's spent the last 19 years in corrections.
It did take some some convincing by the county executive to get council to raise the deputy wardens salary.

With all of the recent mishaps at the prison over the last several months, Sutter hopes to raise morale.

The current warden will be retiring at the end of the year, but we're told the plan is to train Sutter to be the next warden.
