Face to Face Program at McKinley High School

MARCH 18, 2013-Crossing cultural and language barriers at McKinley school tonight.

Students from CollegiateAcademy and McKinley school, along with their families, took part in a family style dinner tonight.

The dinner was a celebration of the Face to Face program.

The program matches 16 collegiate academy high school students with 16 McKinley English language learners.

The grade school children are then taught English by the high Schoolers with an Oxford Picture Dictionary.

The program offers more than just teaching and learning English.

The program is a 16 week course that also builds academic and social skills.

Tonight's group enjoyed a meal featuring ethnic foods from all the families involved.
